Originated by the philosopher Jacques Derrida, deconstruction is an approach to understanding the relationship between text and meaning. Derrida's approach consisted of conducting readings of texts looking for things that run counter to the intended meaning or structural unity of a particular text. This book is a major contribution to West African studies from a well-known scholar and translator of Sahelian literature. The author demonstrates a thoughtful appreciation of the region's ancient cultural history, which is connected to philosophical themes originating in the ancient Egyptian, Abrahamic, and Hellenic contexts.

The environmental crisis, one of the great challenges of our time, tends to disenfranchise those who come after us. Arguing that as temporary inhabitants of the earth, we cannot be indifferent to future generations, this book draws on the resources of phenomenology and poststructuralism to help us conceive of moral relations in connection with human : Paperback.
